Want to take a moment to thank all you who stopped by Calhoun’s on Jefferson Street last evening and helped celebrate the food of New Orleans and raise a little money for the Greenfield Historical Society. It was a very successful evening with a pretty steady crowd during the four-hour event. One conclusion reached from the experience is that Greenfielder’s have a fondness for all things shrimp. The shrimp gumbo and shrimp po’ boy sandwiches put a serious dent in the on-hand supply. I think a lot of people also discovered there’s nothing not to like about ham cooked butter beans over rice.
Thanks to Brad Calhoun and all his excellent staff for making the whole thing run like a well oiled machine! We’re already planning another event for sometime this summer. The plan is to bring a little of Low-County Carolina to Greenfield for a special evening.
