Couple of weeks ago I heard a rumor that Pamida had been bought out by another company and would be changing its name. This morning I learned that the deal is done and Pamida will become ShopKO. A line from their website says…
“Retail formats include 134 Shopko stores, providing quality name-brand merchandise and pharmacy and optical services in small to mid-sized cities, ten Hometown formats that offer a narrower version of items in smaller communities, and five Shopko Express Rx stores, a convenient neighborhood drugstore concept.”
Also changing names will be Calhoun’s on Jefferson. As of July 3, 2012 it will become Three Spoons Diner under the guidance of Doug Gall. Doug currently operates Three Spoons Diner at the Rocky Fork Truck Stop but is closing down that operations and bringing a whole new menu to his new location in Greenfield.
Not to nitpick, but isn’t the name of the restaurant, “Three Spoons Diner,” although I sometimes hope to visit for dinner.

Nitpick appreciated, correction made! 🙂
Since posting this article I have learned that Pamida stores have been owned by ShopKO since 1999 and they are just rebranding their stores for consistency. It is also rumored that the rebranding will include adding a pharmacy to the Greenfield store.
Also heard from Doug Gall and his new Three Spoons Dinner will include breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours as well as being open on Sunday. The menu will include daily specials and weekend specials such as prime rib.
A place to have a good meal without the need to waste gas money!
