Brewery links and other information

I received an email from a reader offering some information for anyone interested in getting into the craft brewing business. I did a little more digging and came up with a few of my own.

Here’s one containing a summary of Ohio’s House Bill 243 that took effect in March of this year:

Here’s a link to a book by the founder of Dogfish Head Brewery which relates his experiences in getting started. It’s available at Amazon:

Following is a link to a site that provides answers to questions about opening a brewery in the US:

This is a link to a story about a guy in Columbus and his experiences in starting and running a brewery:

After yesterday’s article on the cost of a brewing system I’ve since received information informing me that the Samuel Adams Brewing Company makes available loans to new brewery wannabes’ who don’t have access to other means of obtaining loans. That would certainly be a resource worth checking out.

Doug Gall, of Three Spoons Diner, reported that the cost of an installed brewing system would run $32,500 not counting plumbing, electrical, or the cost of a building.

This is more than enough to get you started. There is no shortage of information online. You may not find all the answers but I’m confident you’ll find out where to go to get your answers.
