In a soon to be released book, focusing on the election of 2012, it is reported that Mitt Romney’s family met, before his entering the race, to discuss whether he should throw his hat into the ring.
After discussing the issues a poll was taken in which ten family members, including Mitt, voted that he should not run for the presidency. Their stated reason being that Romney couldn’t win the GOP nomination because of his being a moderate Republican from Massachusetts. Only after seeing the weakness of the Republican field did he decide to enter the race.
I’m just wondering how a moderate Republican from MA so quickly turned into a “severely” conservative from MA. You don’t think political expediency and positioning had anything to do with it, do you?
