The United States Department of Agriculture has announced plans to close about 250 offices in an attempt to save $150 million. At least half will be county agencies serving farmers. My concern is doing anything that would weaken food inspection and food safety. Why would that be a problem? Read Upton Sinclair’s book, The Jungle. Then you’ll know.
