Presidential Advice from Bill Maher

Bill Maher, who has been an outspoken critic of super-pacs did an about-face last week by writing a million dollar check to a super-pac supporting the reelection of President Obama. I’m only assuming he is finally seeing you have to fight fire with fire. Maher has also been a frequent critic of the president while realizing only Obama could represent his overall position. He did offer, however, the following advice to the president:

“If I had one bit of advice for our president, it would be stop trying to get everyone to like you. It’s never gonna happen. About half the country wouldn’t vote for you if you personally saved them from drowning.”

I recently posted a similar sentiment on Facebook:

“If Obama were to appear with Jesus on the steps of the National Cathedral and announced there was at long last “peace on earth,” the extreme right-wing would jeer them both. Jesus for appearing in public with Obama and Obama for weakening the stock value of the big defense contractors.”
