Suggested Reading: Offshore Great Lakes Wind Farms

I like to think I’m an environmentalists but truth be told, I love me some electricity. Nothing tells me I don’t want to be Amish more than the electric power going out. My very being depends on my satellite TV, my satellite Internet service, my wireless cellphone, my wireless data and wi-fi network, my all-electric kitchen, my electric heat, electrically heated hot water, and in the dog days of August, my electric air conditioner.

While I love and enjoy all these things and more, I realize that making electricity is a dirty and dangerous thing. It brings great comfort but also great damage to the environment. The article linked below is about speeding up the process of building offshore wind farms on America’s Great Lakes. There is enormous potential there but not everyone is on-board with harnessing the energy flowing off Lake Erie, etc.
