We were watching a fictional TV drama, Person of Interest, recently and it was suggested the federal government had created social networking sites as a means of getting Americans to volunteer personal information about themselves instead of the government having to do all the investigation. It is an interesting premise since increasing millions of people, all over the world, can’t open their closets and spill the beans fast enough on sites such as Facebook.
