I would be the last person to say motherhood isn’t a hard job and one of the most important of all jobs. And to say, as Hilary Rosen said, that Ms. Romney has never had a job is simply wrong. But, Ann Romney’s reality of motherhood is quite different from what most women have to endure. She has never known raising five children as a single mother. She has never known raising five children on a minimum wage job. So, to say she can relate to the average mother is a bit of a stretch.
