Random Thought: No Medicaid is Easy, Now

Rick Perry, Bobby Jindal, and Rick Scott, all GOP governors, have swollen up their chests and bravely announced they won’t accept “Obamacare’s” offer of Medicaid assistance. They’re not going to participate in or implement the Affordable Care Act in their states. Well, in the short run that may score a few political points. But long term, how’s that going to fly when the elderly and uninsured find their health care benefits aren’t what they once were? How’s it going to fly when people with elderly parents needing Medicare’s long-term care benefits discover their state no longer has such available and they now have to foot their parent’s care from their own pocket? What’s that old saying about one’s nose spiting one’s face?
